did you know what OF used to be promoted for ?

hey you ! you know about onlyfans right ? i very much remember the first time i had ever heard of onlyfans, and back then it was NOT for what it's mainly advertised for nowadays .

no, at that time it really fit the name-only (for) fans ! honestly it kinda just felt like a similar thing to patreon or substack: a way to support the creator of your fav things . it is funny that patreon has its NSFW corners for sure though lol .

back when i used to be on tumblr much more often, i noticed a photographer on there pretty frequently named eyeofscottie . when i eventually went over to instagram, i followed him there and enjoyed his photos and clips so much <33

one day he did a video/photo shoot of something about a 'tutorial' on how to put a condom on, using a model's (or maybe it was his ?? no idea LOL) willy . it obviously couldn't be shared on instagram, soooo he linked his onlyfans since the platform was ok with nudity ! and that was my first time hearing about the site n.n

and saying it/typing it out loud makes me realize even from this 1st introduction, it was something naked, something suggestive i guess ! but when i looked at the other creators posting at the time when Scottie shared his page, it was a mix of fitness trainers or other types of coaches and artists-mainly photographers . the only thing that made them different from other subscription based platforms for creators is that you could post nudity on there no problem ! but my first walk thru of the site never came off as how it's known now in the public eye; it didn't seem like the main focus was the fact you could be naked or intimate on onlyfans at that time .

OKAY . WOW . sorry, i am working on this email and researching about stuff at the same time, but i went to go check out how the OF front page looks, not even logged in, just whatever posts they show on the front page . even the top says something about 'supporting creators' or something along those lines ! and you scroll down, what do you see ? it's so hard for me to describe it through typing . just know that it is for sure, absolutely going to be a video topic in the future bc man what is happening LOL ! let me try to draw it out for you .

best way to explain it is that there are videos being shared that don't look too different from what you'd see on someone's youtube homepage if they were a frequent watcher of vlogs, food reviews and travel/adventure type content . some of the thumbnails do look a smidge bit like the creators are trying to play up their assets, but nothing really screams 'this is a gateway to the porn side of my content'-which is exactly what it ends up being if you click on their profile !! the video is normal and as far as i watched into it there aren't even any dirty jokes or suggestive comments-just a regular food vlog !! bro i even saw stand up comedy on there-EPISODIC, like it's some Kill Tony shit !!! am i missing something here ????

but then you click the page and the profile quickly tries to get you to go to their 'VIP' profile, which is where you're met with the typical onlyfans page everyone knows it as now . i would say it feels like a trick if onlyfans didn't already have the reputation it has . if anything, i was just more confused when the front page was full of tasteful aesthetic looking vlogs and not a blue n white version of pornhub you know ?? why does it feel like onlyfans wants you to believe it's one way when we all know it's something else going on ?? does the front page look the same if you're logged in, like does it save the NSFW for people who are for sure over 18 ? do people who frequently watch stuff on onlyfans even pay attention to the SFW videos ??? is this supposed to be a honey pot for ppl to find their adult content, and if it is a honey pot, who on earth are they trying to fool when the majority of visitors know what kind of site this is ???? so, so many questions ..

like i said, i'll add it to my list of video topics for sure, so i'll leave it here for now lol . have you always known onlyfans as the place for sex work or did you know it as something else ? i wonder how useful of an experiment it would be to post regular videos on an onlyfans page just to take advantage of the loose-ish rules but not actually do anything sexual . but i just doubt people would care much for SFW or normal videos on their porn site, and i think i'd be trying to attract a crowd i couldn't handle lmao . maybe one day i'll give it a try, maybe lololol
